The weather is getting to me, cold, wet, the heaters in the toilet can barely match the chill.
Well some people might not have to face the weather of the West anymore. At least in the wee nights of NTU that is.
The Hall eviction meeting is finally happening today and the hotel stay of two residents hang in the balance.
And no, there is no cause for pity. They brought on their predicament by choosing not to fulfill their promise on the Hall Fellow's recommendation list.
People break promises all the time. Who isn't surprised? Sometimes, you got to pay for it. Sometimes you get lucky.
I try to put myself in the shoes of the two residents and I laugh to myself. Imagine getting an sms or a phone call asking you to come for YOUR eviction meeting, and then, you agree to it, in a similar manner as you would when someone asked you out for dinner.
Really funny and illogical. But that's probably how their mind worked. Some people, saved themselves from the chop by taking part in a simple road relay for the hall. Of course it took somewhat 9 minutes plus a bit of pain but the incentive of not having to see the Senior Hall Fellow plus a possible extension of hall stay might seem like a more than worth it exchange.
It should be interesting to see what happens later. Perhaps like some people, they might not have to keep their promises, flaunting them obscenely in the face of someone kind enough to give them a chance.
But that's the problem of these people. You can run now, you can escape next time. But payment will come, sooner or later.
