New Year Frolicking

I write to remember events and gifts from people.

There were plenty going around in the Chinese New Year.

Bling for the Young and Suave

Though the chain's a bit on the large side, the blackened steel draped over the wrist conveys an air of chic beng-ness. Thanks to the 2 jocks who saved my valentine's day from a complete wash out by turning it into friendship day.

Heart Shaped Beauties

Chocolates always get me high. All the time. These handmade confections from Baroque featured premium fresh dark chocolate encasing a smooth fruity syrup centre. Flavours like lychee, blueberry and banana were perfect as a little sin before hitting the gym at SRC. From the guys on valentine's day. Thank you. I appreciate it.

Feast with the Hall

An 8-course dinner at Boon Lay Raja restaurant provided the sustenance for the road relay on Saturday morning. I ate alot, thinking that the road relay would be a piece of cake. How wrong I was.

Nightmare Concoction

I stared at the board in disbelief for 10 seconds. Somebody should scream at Donut Factory that their sugared rings and salad greens should never be mixed. One, is a health nut's nightmare while the other is taken by weight-loss fanatics or green addicts. It's like mixing Lee Kuan Yew with Chee Soo Juan. Impossible. Imagine how it tastes.

Designer Desserts

These two cakes sent me gushing with glee.

The Black Bottom Pie from Brewerkz is a mountain of chocolate ice cream, presented on a chocolate crumb base and splashed with rich chocolate sauce. This sort of thing, is perfect for gorging on when watching movies or before bed. But don't tell Faizal.

The best blackforest cake. Available at Laurent's Cafe and Chocolate Bar. Fresh cream, soft, fragrant chocolate cake, liquered cherries, light frosted sugar and curled chocolate shavings. My personal aphrodisiac. Not kidding. At $7.50 a piece however, Xtube and friends are a cheaper alternative.
